PREMIER LEAGUE MENS/WOMEN
Premier League Football

Macquarie Dragons are proud to have a squad representing the club in the NWSF Premier League Mens competition.
This competition is the elite competition in our Association and the highest level up until the NPL competitions. It comprises First Grade and Reserve Grade competitions. Our home ground is Waterloo Park, Marsfield.

The squad consists of around 35 players in order to field 2 teams each week. They train two nights per week during the normal season starting in mid January with the squad playing trial games shortly after.

Dragons have an emphasis on promoting its own young players (typically u18 & u21 players) to the top squad and the club get a great sense of pride when these young players step up full-time into our senior squad. Whilst promoting youth is our priority, any quality player can be invited to trial for the squad. These trials normally take place in December.
If you’re looking to trial for the Dragons Premier League squad, simply contact the Premier League manager or any Dragons Committee member.

Every triallist is given a fair opportunity.

Triallists can be any age from 17 and over.
The Dragons PL squad also compete in the Gilmour Cup each season which is a pre-season knockout competition comprising the stronger squads in NWSF – Premier League, Super League and All-Age 1.

We also enter the Australia Cup (formally the FFA Cup) each season. This is a knock-out competition where amateur and professional teams from all over Australia compete.

Womens Premier League
The Womens squad competes in the NWSF Womens Premier League competition. This competition is the highest Womens level in the NWSF Association.
Our home ground is Waterloo Park, Marsfield.

Trials for this team are conducted in December each year with training commencing in mid/late January.
We also have an emphasis on promoting female players from within our club.
The squad consists of around 18 players in the team. The team starts training and playing trial games in early 2024.

In March each year, the women's PL teams and high-level All-Age teams compete in the pre-season Beryl Ackroyd Cup, which is a knockout competition.
