YOUTH FOOTBALL

From ages U13-U18
The Macquarie Dragons have teams in the Youth competition.  Youth Football at our club is managed by the Youth Football Manager.
As footballers grow, their skills requirements changes. Moving into the U13 - U18 age groups means footballers start playing on full sized fields with full sized goals. Macquarie Dragons move away from the Co-operative based training to more dedicated team training, to continue teaching our youth the art of football.
All of our youth coaches have begun coaching a new training structure & a specific style of coaching that was implemented by our Coaching Director together with the assistance from our Premier League staff. This new structure will allow for an easy transition into our Premier League squads come the time.

Each team will have its own coach who will facilitate and run weekly training sessions designed for the team. The training nights will be advised by the coach, and will sessions will be held at Waterloo Park & Marsfield Park.

As a way of giving back to the community at the Dragons we have a few of our Premier League players & high level older youth players volunteering their time in coaching the younger youth teams.

Training sessions will commence late March.

GOALKEEPER training sessions will be on demand. If you would like to arrange sessions please contact our Coaching Director at coaching@macquariedragons.com.au.

If you'd like more information please contact the Youth Football manager at (youthfootball@macquariedragons.com.au).

Electronic Matchsheets

From 2018, electronic matchsheets is compulsory for all competitions from U12 upwards. Both teams are required to have their teamsheets marked as “complete” and to confirm the other team’s teamsheet in the system 10 mins prior to kick-off.
