Welcome to a new season of winter football, particularly to new players and parents. Most of the information you will need to participate in the season and the Clubs activities for the year are contained in the information booklets provided with your registration, or in the various Menu items of the Website. Have a look at those sources and if still in doubt please ask your teams Manager / Coach / Committee Representative (each team is required to have a rep attend the Committee meetings during the season) or a Committee member.

A reminder that all office holders in the Club are volunteers who give their time to make the Club run and provide sporting and social outlets for all players and supporters. Many aspects of the season are outside the direct control of these people, so be prepared to be patient and co-operative when needs be in the interests of an enjoyable experience for all.

The Dragons have always strived to uphold a spirit of Sportsmanship, Respect and Fair Play, whilst encouraging all levels of participation from competitive to more social. These themes will continue to guide the Clubs development throughout the year.

The Club continues its sponsorship of any member who wishes to undertake training as a coach or referee. We have a strong representation of current and past players who are qualified referees and encourage those interested to take up the invitation to participate in those roles.

Small Sided Games continue this season for the Mini footballers including U/9’s. This innovation to the GHFA has been generally well received and the improved skill levels are starting to become apparent.

Commensurate with the desire to offer the most skill appropriate experience for the majority of players, grading of competition teams (where more than one team will be fielded in an age group), will occur pre-season. Coaches, Managers or your teams Committee Rep will advise details.

As has been the case for the last few seasons, communications within the club will be largely electronic, via the "Sports passion" site and this website, so look to these for details of coming events.

As ever we welcome suggestions on any aspect of the season, and look forward to your participation in the activities of the Club.
